Keter is a business invented on the ideas of sustainability and innovation. Based out of Israel and serving customers around the globe for the better part of the past 75 years, Keter Group has made a name for itself as a premium purveyor of quality products.
Led by the work of CEO Alejandro Pena, Keter Group has recently been making waves thanks to its focus on charitable outreach, greener initiatives, and a focus on diminishing its overall impact on the environment.
Most recently, Keter announced its collaborative efforts with the Ronald McDonald House in Ontario (RMHCC).
The Ronald McDonald House – Keter Connection
Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada is a nonprofit in Canada focused on providing temporary housing accommodations for family units traveling for medical treatment of a seriously ill minor. Families in this precarious situation can benefit significantly from support along the way.
RMHCC has 33 programs across all of Canada with 15 housing facilities. These facilities can be found from Nova Scotia to Vancouver and everywhere. McDonald’s works to fund these charitable programs through efforts such as McHappy Day, a day in which a portion of proceeds go straight to RMHCC. In 2022 alone, RMHCC raised $5.7 million.
The Keter Group Outreach
Keter Group has its own outreach program, Keter Green Spaces. Keter is increasingly looking at supporting communities where they operate, especially when it comes time to give back.
Keter Green Spaces is a program that helps teach children how to plant flora and produce sustainable growth. Actual Keter employees lead the program as they seek to give their charges a fulfilling lesson.
In addition to these outreach efforts, Keter Canada has donated time and products to the Serenity Garden adjacent to the RMHCC South Central Ontario location. It is here that families relax, have barbecues, or otherwise enjoy their time outdoors while staying at the local McDonald’s House.
Sustainability Always in Focus
Keter’s entire business model is predicated on the ideal of sustainability. However, that can only happen when effective partnerships are in place—Keter partners with many recycling companies to minimize its carbon footprint while educating consumers on sustainable living options.
Additionally, Keter works with the global sports goods manufacturer Decathlon to recycle the company’s clothing hangers due to the presence of a specific type of resin. Keter has collected over 20 metric tons of hangers through this unlikely partnership.
Keter hopes that its continued efforts in recycling and sustainability and its outreach through the Ronald McDonald House can leave a mark on those vulnerable and in need.
